BUXTON ‘Ductair’ Bulls look to make it a hat-trick of home victories when they take on the Middlesbrough Tigers in the WSRA National Development League at Hi-Edge Raceway on Sunday afternoon, 3 pm.

The two sides met just over a week ago when the Tigers took a 56-34 victory as they pulled away in the second half of the meeting to take a comfortable victory, and the Bulls will be looking to return the compliment at their Peak District home.

The Bulls welcome back skipper Jack Smith after injury and will be looking to continue their good recent home form, but will face a stern test against the Tigers, who are led into action by in-form Ace Pijper, and he is supported by Nathan Ablitt, who guested for Jack Smith in last week’s victory over ‘King’s Lynn ’.

Charlie Southwick and Harry Sadler have been riding well in the middle order of the Tigers side while Jade Mudgway misses the meeting with the Tigers, using rider replacement to cover for his absence.

At reserve, Alex Spooner links up with Stene Pijper, with former Bulls rider Ryan Ashcroft being named as number right for Middlesbrough.

Team manager Laurence Rogers said, “Middlesbrough are a decent side and are currently second in the table, so we will need to be at our very best for the meeting.

We’ve won our last two meetings here at Hi-Edge, and we’ve been in good form recently, and there is no reason we should fear anyone around our home circuit.

We welcome back our captain, Jack Smith, and that is certainly a boost to the side. We will be looking, first of all, to get the victory on the day, and if there is any chance of getting the aggregate points, then we will go for it.

“Middlesbrough have Ace Pijper at number one and he is in very good form both in the NDL and in the Championship for Redcar where he scored paid 11-points for them at Glasgow and of course Nathan Ablitt who guested for us last week when he guested for Jack (Smith) likes this place also, so I think we will have a really tough and entertaining meeting here on Sunday.”
