Buxton’s teenager Jamie Etherington has decided to take a short break from racing and will miss the Bulls’ away trip to Leicester on Sunday for the 2nd leg of the Derbyshire-Leicestershire Challenge Cup.

The 17-year-old recently relinquished his team spot with Championship side Workington, with his confidence at a low point. He spent time practising last weekend but has now decided on a break from racing for a short while before getting back on a bike and returning to racing.
Buxton team boss Laurence Rogers fully understands his decision, “Speedway is a confidence sport, and at the moment Jamie needs time to regain his, and we will support him all we can. Once he feels ready, he will go for some personal practice and then return to the Bulls team. On Sunday, we will use Ben Whalley as a guest at Leicester.”
