BUXTON Speedway will be the place for weekend racing action when they return to the track next season after a seven-year gap.

The Ductair Bulls promoter Laurence Rogers has confirmed that Sunday afternoon will be the club’s main race day in 2026, with some Saturday nights also likely to be on the fixture schedule for National Development League meetings at the Derbyshire venue.

Rogers explained: “Although we must wait for British Speedway to hopefully accept our application for NDL status and for them to confirm next year’s overall league structure, we’re delighted to announce that it is our intention to present weekend racing at Buxton.

“We obviously want to attract and retain support from as many families as possible, and what better way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon than watching the Bulls in action in the beautiful Peak District.

“Our alternative race day will be Saturday nights, which is again popular among families with children and also those travelling longer distances.

“Midweek dates are a definite no-no for us because they would deter too many working adults and also those with children who have to be up early for school the next morning.”

Meanwhile, Buxton’s team of volunteers were hard at it again this week, carrying out track and stadium renovation work.

Rogers commented: “Over the past few weekends, work has been progressing on the track, with a whole weekend spent on it last week. The track is looking better and better, and plans are to have it tested soon before announcing practice dates.

“After the initial tidy up, work now gets underway on the long list of jobs the gang have to bring the whole area up to scratch in readiness for getting the club back in action.”
