Work continues at Buxton to get both the track and the buildings ready for 2026, with plans in place to have practice sessions running as soon as possible.

The volunteers have been hard at it on Sundays, plus some of them have been there midweek, and over the whole weekend. The track has been worked on, with more to do over the next few weeks. New fence posts are being put in place, and then the air fence can be fitted.

The buildings are being demolished in readiness for new ones going in, the pits will be renovated and extended, plus a new pit area for the MDL riders built. It is very much non-stop work.

The club are awaiting news of what league format the NDL will be, and the application to be involved is ready to be submitted.

Work goes on behind the scenes to bring in sponsorship and advertising for 2026, with Steve Rolleston and Paul Hoskison on the case of approaching local businesses, and they have already had some success. Any interested parties can contact them by emailing: commercial@buxtonspeedway.co.uk

Promoter Laurence Rogers is pleased with the response to the news of the return of the sport to Buxton; “We have had nothing but positive comments from all angles. The initial interview we put on social media attracted 16,700 views on the first day, which was astounding. The media team, led by Andy Dugmore, are doing a magnificent job, and we have formed a media tie-up with Moorlands Radio”.
