Alfie Bowtell, surprisingly without a championship team spot, has become the Buxton DUCTAIR Bulls’ second signing, joining Jack Smith for the return of speedway to the picturesque track in the Derbyshire hills.
This gives the NDL newcomers a strong spearhead with promises of more to come. Bowtell has had a few good seasons at Plymouth, and the Essex-based racer is looking forward to the challenge of re-establishing the sport at Buxton.

“It didn’t take me long to agree to join the Bulls when Laurence (Rogers) messaged me. I know him well and rode for him at Birmingham in 2023. I know he and the volunteers have been working nonstop all winter at Buxton, and they have great plans for the club, and I am happy to be part of that. Jack and I will be a strong spearhead.”
Promoter Laurence Rogers is pleased to have tempted the 2023 Birmingham rider of the year to Buxton, “Alfie is a great team man and a rider who always gives his full commitment. He and Jack give us two strong heat leaders with other signings in the pipeline that will give us a solid side.”
